Vaccine Skill Development Programme – An initiative of Government of Telangana
Government of Telangana in partnership with the leading vaccine industries conceptualized and rolled-out a unique industry-led Vaccine Skill Development program to build capabilities in Biopharma industry. Primary objective of this programme is to upskill the life sciences students in vaccine and biologics as to create the workforce for the changing life sciences industry landscape.
The programme offers an integrated overview of Vaccinology by covering all the key subjects on vaccine development from design to delivery.

USP Hyderabad Training Institute
The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) with the support of Government of Telangana has joined hands to establish a training institute to help prepare university graduates and pharmaceutical professionals to contribute to a culture of quality in pharmaceutical manufacturing. USP is an independent, scientific non-profit organization that sets quality standards for medicines, dietary supplements, and food ingredients.
The training institute is designed to help bridge the gap between university programmes and industry best practice, with intensive hands-on training aligned with regulatory guidelines and international medicines quality standards. The institute offer courses on quality control, quality assurance, and research and development, ranging from seven to eight weeks.
Training offered by Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life sciences (DRILS)
With a vision to grow the Life Sciences sector in the State, Government of Telangana plans to undertake systematic and need-driven effort to conduct training programs. The GoTS is focused on designing and delivering training programs to advance skills and aptitude in basic science and industry-relevant areas among students, teachers, and industry recruits. Programs for students at different levels from high school to doctoral level, college teachers, and industry staff are being conducted. The training programs are of the following broad categories:

Other Training and Skilling Initiatives
Hyderabad houses premier industry focused institutions such as University of Hyderabad, National Institute for Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, etc. Government of Telangana is undertaking various training and skilling initiatives to create skilled and employable workforce in the state for Life Sciences sector.
Further, with a vision to grow the Life Sciences sector in the State, Government of Telangana plans to establish a Pharma University of global standards. The main objective of the Pharma University is to develop the talent pool required by the Industry and promote cutting edge research & development. It is the vision of Government of Telangana to see Pharma University become a global center of excellence in the years to come.
Institutionalizing Skilling
Government of Telangana has established Telangana Academy of Skills and Knowledge, which is a unique institution aimed at creating trained industry ready workforce in the State of Telangana. The objective is to provide youth with the Technical, Organizational and Personal Impact Skills to enhance their employability quotients by providing trainings in multiple fields such as engineering, pharmacy, polytechnics etc. TASK serves as the nodal agency for the skilling initiatives undertaken by the State Government.
Over the years, TASK has created an extensive network of students, academia and the industry to offer the best knowledge to the trainees.

TASK also undertakes specialized training programme for industries with a custom-built curriculum.
Samsung India and Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) signed an agreement to open Samsung Digital Academy to skill and create a pool of trained youth who can leverage the software development and testing opportunities presented by innovative digital technologies based on the Tizen operating system (OS). The Tizen App Development self-learning course is a strong mix of theory and lab-based training with extensive tutorials and approach documents covering topics such as introduction to the Tizen platform, the Tizen app development process, testing and debugging, device Application Program Interface (APIs) as well as packaging and installation of designed apps on various devices. Students will also be trained on how to migrate existing apps on to the Tizen platform. From April 2016 to March 2017, 39 faculty & 612 students were trained as part of this programme.
