Hyderabad today has emerged as a major scientific and R&D hub through targeted investment and establishment of institutions such as Indian Drug and Pharmaceuticals Limited (IDPL), International Crops Research Institute for semi-arid tropics (ICRISAT), Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), among many others.

Proximity to these institutions helped the city create a nurturing environment for the life sciences sector spawning R&D Centers, manufacturers, training institutions and testing laboratories. We have consistently tried to retain this momentum by establishing life sciences specific industrial clusters such as the Genome valley, which has become a major innovation and life sciences cluster in Asia.

The cluster has grown tremendously to become home to over 200 companies, which includes over 50 global powerhouses. It is indeed a very unique cluster and the kind cutting-edge scientific efforts happening in Genome Valley is just unmatchable by any other cluster in India and perhaps Asia.

Similarly, Government had launched the Country’s largest medical devices park in Hyderabad during June 2017, which has become home to more than 25 companies focused on innovation and manufacturing of devices and diagnostics.

Building on the success on Genome Valley and Medical Devices Park, the Government now has embarked on an ambitious mission to build the world’s largest pharmaceutical cluster called Hyderabad Pharma City.  

Our world-class infrastructure, cluster-based approach and availability of manpower continues to help attract major Global and Indian Life Sciences companies to Hyderabad and Telangana.
